THROUGH MY SIGHTS
How did you like our banquets? From all reports we have received, everyone attending in Elko and Las Vegas had a wonderful time. I want to thank everyone who made these events special. These were the people who believed in us from the beginning and are still there to help us achieve our goals. It gives us assurance that with people like this on our side, we can... Read More >> |

ARE COYOTES A THREAT TO GAME POPULATIONS? YOU BE THE JUDGE!
"This is the unedited reality of what coyotes do to sheep or deer. It's no wonder our deer herds are decreasing. The above doe was killed by four coyotes. Her front shoulder was partially eaten and one unborn fawn was eaten." Note the other unborn fawn. Now do you see why we need predator control? Photo courtesy of Craig O'Gorman who has many more like this one! Of course, NDOW administrator Molini says we do not have a predator problem in our state." Read More >> |

Just killed by a cougar
About March 20th, 19941 was in the North end of Area 23 hunting for deer and elk drops. I came upon a huge cedar tree with the bark ripped off the trunk and looked under it and saw a large hump with some fur sticking out, I uncovered it and found a full grown coyote just killed by a cougar, the intestines were eaten up and the rest of it was buried under dirt and branches. For the next few hours I saw at least six different cougar tracks in a twenty mile stretch. This area I was in is the winteri... Read More >> |

Cougar kills suspected in deer herd declines in CA's Sierra
Bishop — Mountain lions are among suspected miscreants in the steady decline of deer numbers, as state wildlife officials in California's Eastern Sierra enter the second year of a comprehensive deer study....
