This could quite possibly be the most important year for your hunting future. If you are one of the outdoors people who let everyone else do it (make necessary changes), then we will all be the losers. If you think your hunting, fishing, and trapping are not in jeopardy, then just look at the recent election in Arizona (Proposition 200) to outlaw these outdoor activities. In the final vote, 68% of the people voted to keep hunting, fishing, and trapping in that state. WHOOPEE! We won. Do you realize that if 12-1/2% more of the voting public wanted to outlaw these activities, they would be lost forever. The defeated were so happy with this high percentage that they are already coming back with a "reworded bill" in a couple years.
By now you know HUNTER'S ALERT has been working very hard to make hunting and fishing better for all sportsmen in our state. We have taken on the giants and we are winning because we have the truth on our side. A classic example of this is the fight we have waged over the last two years so every big game hunter will have a fair big game tag draw. Now we have another fight to get some very important bills passed. This cannot be accomplished without financial help. HUNTER'S ALERT has scheduled a fundraising banquet on May 14 at the Italian American Club. At that time we will explain the importance of our proposed bills. If for some reason, you are unable to attend, send a contribution to HUNTER'S ALERT so we can have a full time lobbyist in Carson City to help ensure passage of our bills. We cannot do it alone. We need YOUR SUPPORT. We have done our part so PLEASE DO YOURS. The last thing HUNTER'S ALERT wants to to tell our readers in two, three, or five years is "Hunting, fishing, and trapping are lost forever in our state. I told you so!"
