HUNTER'S ALERT has just completed two very successful banquets, one in May in Las Vegas, and our first at Elko in June. The banquet in Las Vegas was supported by many of our original members. It is extremely rewarding to see people like Tommy Ford, Mike Fauci, Hagan Thompson, and many, many more attend our function. These were the people who believed in us from the beginning and are still there to help us achieve our goals. It gives us assurance that with people like this on our side, we can indeed succeed. They not only help make our organization a success, but our fundraisers go over the top because of them.

On to Elko. We were a little apprehensive. We knew people in Elko County weren't overly pleased with people from Clark County. HUNTER'S ALERT can certainly understand how they feel with some of the goofy appointments to the Wildlife Commission that have emanated from Clark County. Some of the attendees were not exactly sure when the evening began but there was no doubt where HUNTER'S ALERT stood after President Cecil Fredi delivered the opening speech. There was also no doubt that the people of Elko County had teamed up with HUNTER'S ALERT. And it appears that we have those staunch first time supporters in Elko like the Gustins, the Gardners, and the Quinns.

This was indeed a learning experience for everyone. The political candidates in attendance now realize that major problems in Clark County are not necessarily major problems in Elko County. The politicians learned that crime is the number one problem in Clark County while encroachment by our state and federal governments with their continual rules and takeaway policies are Elko's major problem.

And HUNTER'S ALERT learned something too...we have many, many dedicated friends and members in Elko!
