Pastor Martin Niemoller made the following statement at the time of his arrest by the Gestapo in 1937: "In Germany, they came first for the communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a communist. Then, they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the Catholics, I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then, they came for me, and by that time no one was left to speak up. To paraphrase: "In America, they came first for the machine guns, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a machine gunner. Then, they came for the handguns, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a handgunner. Then, they came for the semi-autos, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a semi-auto owner. Then they came for the competitor, and I didn't speak up because I was a hunter. Then, they came for me, and by that time no one was left to speak up." REPRINTED FROM: J & G SALES NEWSLETTER, January 1994 To paraphrase once again: "They outlawed 1080 poison for coyotes and I didn't speak up because I am a hunter. They protected hawks, owls, and ravens but I didn't speak up because I am a hunter. They took the land and called it wilderness but I didn't speak up because I am a hunter. They reintroduced the wolf but I didn't speak up because I am a hunter. Then they outlawed hunting and by that time there were no hunters left to speak up." Cecil Fredi, HUNTER'S ALERT
