By now you must realize that the people in charge of your hunting are not doing a good job. This will not change until we have a new governor who will appoint knowledgeable people to the Wildlife Commission. We still have two more years before this happens so the only way sportsmen can make changes is to elect people who are willing to pass laws for the betterment of hunters. For this reason it is extremely important that first, you register to vote. Second, Vote for pro-hunting candidates. Following is a list of candidates who will help accomplish our goals.

Chowning State Assembly, District 35: Shirley Walker BUT DON'T VOTE FOR MARCIA de BRAGA Assemblyman Marcia de Braga is not only a disgrace to every sportsman in the state but also to every person who wants government by the people, for the people. In the last legislative session, the HUNTER'S ALERT bill, A.B.307 in its original form would have done the following: let the county advisory boards choose the Wildlife Commission, not the governor. This lets government work from the the people up. Marcia de Braga does not want this. She wants the governor to appoint his friends who have shown they are not the most experienced in hunting and fishing matters. This is government working from the top down. The current wildlife commissioners have not been kind to sportsmen. A.B.307 would have replaced them with knowledgeable personnel. Marcia de Braga did not want this. As chairman of the Nature Resources Committee, she caved in to the governor and had that part of the bill changed. If you doubt any of this, ask Marcia to show you A.B.307 in its original print and how it was changed by her in the third reprint. Let's show Marcia de Braga that the people put her in office not the governor. Let's replace Marcia de Braga with someone who will represent sportsmen.
