In order to straighten out the mess that former NDOW administrator Willie Molini left behind, sportsmen will require four separate things. One, a governor who cares about sportsmen, Two, some knowledgeable Wildlife commissioners, Three, a new direction in NDOW, and Four, getting some bills passed at the legislature.

Let's review these important items. One: Fortunately for sportsmen, we now have a governor who does care, unlike former governor Bob Miller. Two: A governor who cares will appoint some knowledgeable Wildlife commissioners. Kenny Guinn has appointed two of them to straighten out the mess that we are currently in. Three: It is only a matter of time before we get a new administrator in NDOW, a new administrator who will get the Division headed in the right direction. Four: When it comes to getting bills passed, this is where every sportsman in the state could and should help their own cause.

Hunters have three strikes against them. Most of them use guns, they all kill things and for the most part, they don't get involved. The first place to get involved is to register to vote. Forget about all those feeble excuses that are used for not voting. One of those excuses is that we don't know who to vote for. HUNTER'S ALERT knows the state representatives who are supportive of hunting issues and we will publish them before the primary and general elections in the fall.

Voting is very simple. There are no costs incurred and very little time required. Is this asking too much to save your sport which already has three strikes against it? If you are not registered to vote, please for the sake of your hunting future, register now.

The first three items are difficult for an individual to change. However, number four can only be accomplished by electing the right people and voting is easy to do.
