My first meeting as a Wildlife commissioner for our state was both enlightening and rewarding. My family and I have had the privilege of living in Nevada since the late 1940 s and in attending the recent meeting in Ely I had the opportunity to meet many dedicated outdoorsmen who not only value but also protect our important natural resources. The many people I saw and spoke with give unselfishly of their time and have a real personal commitment to the preservation, continuation, and well-being of our game and other important outdoor resources. 1 wish to thank Governor Guinn for giving me the appointment and chance to serve our great state and its people while working hand in hand together on this valuable commission. One of my first tasks will be to fulfill my assignment to the committee for the Overton Wildlife Management Area. I look forward to working with the interested citizens from this area as well as with the Clark County Advisory Board and NDOW staff to create an important wildlife area to be enjoyed by all outdoor enthusiasts alike. By working closely together we can achieve positive wildlife goals for Overton and our great state which is long overdue. I welcome the task and look forward to rolling up my sleeves with all of you as one of your Wildlife commissioners.
