How important is the second amendment? This is a very important election year. Many people vote on a single issue. To them, that issue is quite possibly the only reason they are voting. Let's talk about some issues and just how important they are. This election season education is the hot topic. It is very important for the future of our nation relies on the youth of today. Crime was the hot issue for marry years during campaign season. Social Security and many health care topics are also kicked around by people seeking office. Let's look at the big picture. Let's talk about how important the second amendment is. the amendment that is the right of people to keep and bear arms. The Second Amendment was not put into the Constitution for duck hunters. Seasons, dates and bag limits did not exist when the Second Amendment was written. Our forefathers had just defeated government oppression. And to ensure government tyranny did not occur again, the second amendment was written into the Constitution. With that said, let's look at what would happen if you had government tyranny. If education was why you voted, you would not have any choice. The government would completely dominate how children would be educated or not educated. Social security would probably be nonexistent. Do you really think the government is going to give out any entitlements? Think about it. When government has complete control, it is not government by the people, for the people as our forefathers wanted. For this reason, protecting the second amendment is the single most important reason to vote for or against a candidate. By Cecil Fredi, HUNTER'S ALERT
