So you went to a sportsmen s banquet and in doing so, you felt you did your part to help wildlife. Without a doubt, you helped the sheep, elk, ducks or whichever organization was putting on the banquet to enhance game birds or animals. Now what have you done for hunters or hunting lately? Better yet, what have you done for hunters or hunting in your own state? The answer is probably nothing. The single most important thing you can do for yourself as a hunter in the State of Nevada is to see that Bill Draft Request 45-647 gets passed in the upcoming legislative session.
It is really a simple thing to do to let your state legislators know how you feel about a particular issue. It requires very little time and no expense. How simple could it be? Remember, our elected officials vote on a bill according to what their constituents want. If you don t get involved, they can t read your mind. Believe me, the anti s get involved and their voice is heard by our politicians loud and clear. We urge you and every sportsmen s organization that you may be a member of, to get behind this bill and see to it that it gets passed. The parts of this bill and the reasons for passage are laid out elsewhere in this newsletter. At press time, we don t have a bill number but HUNTER S ALERT will keep you informed and it is up to you to take it from there. It is time to be a participant and not a spectator. If you are not part of the solution, you must like our declining game numbers. Now is the time for you to get involved.
