If NDOW were as good at predator control as they are at failed audits, predators would not be a problem in our state. NDOW never had an audit they couldn't fail. The most recent was another case of mismanagement which is hard to blame on drought, wildfires and bad winters.
This audit was conducted by the Executive Branch Audit. It found that five members of NDOW racked up between 300 and 1100 hours of overtime in fiscal years 2001 and 2002. In the Reno Gazette Journal on September 15, 2002, State treasurer Brian Krolicki, a member of the Audit Committee asked how one employee could work 1100 hours of overtime-the equivalent of 137 days-in one year. HUNTER'S ALERT has secured a copy of the audit and it reeks of improprieties. Look for the truth about this audit in the next issue.
