Where’s the governor, the attorney general and the Wildlife Commission when NDOW tramples over people’s rights? The answer is, they are all out to lunch. They choose to turn their heads when NDOW violates the law. HUNTER’S ALERT told you how NDOW set up one of their own employees. They were illegally searching Bart Tanner’s home and while performing their illegal search, they were illegally wiretapping him. Of course, no one in NDOW was ever punished for their illegal activities.

Nevada Div. Wildlife Killed the Lobsters
This is a sign a few miles south of Mina. NDOW wanted to play ”tough guy” by putting Bob Eddy out of business for no apparent reason.
HUNTER’S ALERT also told you how NDOW offered bribes to two people to get them to lie about a sheep that had been poached. Offering a bribe is an illegal activity and again there was no punishment for the illegal activity.

We now have another case of NDOW violating the law. Bob Eddy was a rancher trying to scratch out a living in of all places, Mina, Nevada. Small time ranchers are becoming a thing of the past and Bob realized this. He also realized that lobster brings more per pound than beef does so he decided to raise and sell live Australian crayfish, also known as blue lobster.

In doing so, he had to secure a permit from NDOW. There was a technicality involved with this permit. NDOW sold him a commercial license with restrictions. The restriction was that Mr. Eddy could not sell any live lobsters. This meant that every customer had to apply for a permit to buy a live lobster. Basically you could not kill a lobster without a U.S.D.A. inspected place of operation. NDOW filed a suit against Eddy. Of course, they filed the suit in Washoe County when in fact it should have been filed in Mineral County where Bob Eddy resides. NDOW wanted to stack the judicial system in their favor.

The court order stated that NDOW could kill the lobsters by turning off the water in the tank and chill ponds below 50 degrees and the lobsters would die. NDOW chose to pump the tank down. In doing so, they pumped out a federally threatened fish called the Railroad Valley Spring fish. In addition, they poisoned the tank and let the poisoned water run into the stream which killed all the threatened fish in the pond. Killing a threatened fish is a federal violation. Why wasn’t NDOW cited for this?

In using poison, a permit was needed. Bob Eddy wrote to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife, NDOW, and the Nevada Protection Agency. No permit was ever secured. Once again, NDOW violated the law. When the judge rendered the court order to chill, "not poison" the water, again NDOW violated the law.

Basically, NDOW wanted to play "tough guy" with someone out in the middle of the desert just trying to scratch out a living. When this big raid took place, nine law enforcement officers swooped down wearing their bullet proof vests to make this gigantic bust. Bob’s wife, Pam stated that they were not even going to let her come onto her own property and told her she had no right to enter her own house without a deputy accompanying her. There was never a search warrant issued for this harrassment. Does this remind anyone of Nazi Germany?

The amazing thing is that these Australian crayfish or blue lobster can be purchased live by anyone in a pet store and no permit is required. They can also be shipped direct alive and no laws have been broken. Many state legislators drive by Bob Eddy’s lobster farm on the way to Carson City. Now maybe some of these legislators will wake up and at last realize that NDOW is a state agency that is still out of control. At what point, is someone going to step up and do something about all of NDOW’s illegal activities?
