For a hunter or gun owner in our state, no election has been as important as this year’s gubernatorial race. For the last eighteen years, Nevada sportsmen have been A.W.O.L. (absent without leave) when it comes to having a governor who cares about sportsmen’s issues. For ten years, Bob Miller and for eight years, Kenny Guinn totally neglected sportsmen’s issues. As bad as they were, by electing Dina Titus it will get a lot worse.

As stated, Miller and Guinn were "do nothings" for Nevada sportsmen. However, Dina Titus will be a lot worse. No current senator or assemblyperson has proposed more anti-gun and anti-hunting bills than Dina Titus. One of her bills makes it a felony to shoot a wild horse. Rather than humanely controlling their numbers, she chose to destroy habitat with the overpopulation of wild horses.

She was also responsible for a bill that lets NDOW charge a person with a felony if he shoots a big game animal without a tag. Sounds great, however on numerous occasions, NDOW has cited people with a felony when no big game animal was shot without a tag. NDOW will charge a person with a felony knowing it will be plea bargained down just so they can obtain a conviction.

The amazing thing about Dina Titus is that for years, she has been an anti-gun legislator. However, during the primary race she stated she was a gun owner opposed to tougher gun control laws. How is that for a spin? Dina Titus will say anything to be elected. Let’s make sure she is not our next governor.
