Normally, HUNTER’S ALERT does not get involved with the selection of Supreme Court justices. However, this one is very different. Judge Nancy Saitta is running against Nancy Becker who is seeking reelection, and who defied the wishes of Nevada voters while trashing the constitution of our state at the same time.

In 1994 and again in 1996, the voters of our state overwhelmingly (71%) voted for a constitutional amendment, which required a two-thirds vote of our legislators to increase our taxes. This meant absolutely nothing to Nancy Becker, in other words, to hell with the majority of Nevada voters. Their wishes do not count. The court, with Nancy Becker’s help ruled against the wishes of Nevadans and the state constitution.

But wait! For hunters it gets even worse. I’m sure you are all aware of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, PETA. They are the animal extremist group who wants to do away with hunting, fishing, trapping and a multitude of other enjoyments, foods, pastimes, etc. PETA defamed a longtime strip entertainer, Bobby Berosini. Mr. Berosini brought suit against PETA. A jury of his peers ruled PETA had wronged Bobby Berosini and awarded him 4.1 million dollars.

PETA didn’t like the jury’s verdict and appealed to Nevada Supreme Court. The Supreme Cout sent the case back to Nancy Becker who was not the original trial judge. She decided the Berosinis should pay the cost of the trial (remember, PETA lost the trial) and pre-judgment interest. She ruled the case was "frivolous". In other words, to hell with what the jury thought. With the help of Nancy Becker, the Court ruled that Bobby Berosini should pay PETA hundreds of thousands of dollars. All of you Nevada sportsmen should know that Nancy Becker is no friend of yours because of her support of PETA. This is why HUNTER’S ALERT is involved in this race. You should get involved as well.

HUNTER’S ALERT has spoken to Becker’s opponent, Nancy Saiita about hunting and gun issues. Her comments are consistent with Nancy Saitta’s beliefs. She firmly supports the Second Amendment and opposes PETA’s extreme positions. When asked, she stated that "Hunting and fishing are healthy outdoor sports that families can enjoy. It is a tradition that should be encouraged and supported."
