You would think that a person who saved 53 Desert bighorn sheep from dying would be waiting for a commendation for doing a good job. Not so! He is waiting for the government to give him a citation. He has asked us not to disclose his name yet because of possible court proceedings.

In July, this person observed a natural spring that was plugged. The sheep were in the mud trying to get whatever water was available. The good Samaritan observed this, went to get a backhoe and returned to unplug the water supply. The sheep were so thirsty that they were not afraid of him and hung around while he was working. Speaking of pictures, they confiscated some of this person’s photos to be used as evidence against him. His crime?  “He failed to get permission.”  Had he waited for permission, 53 sheep would have died. HUNTER’S ALERT will keep you informed about this miscarriage of justice.
