Recently HUNTER'S ALERT attended the Friends of National Rifle Association banquet in Las Vegas. We sat at a table with some strangers and after introducing ourselves, of course the conversation turned to guns, hunting, and politics.

The three strangers at our table could talk about guns and hunting but they didn't know who their senator or assemblyman were. I explained to them that they have taken the first step by supporting a pro-gun, pro-hunting organization. However, they did not take an equally important step by supporting candidates who share their views. I explained that HUNTER'S ALERT does on a state level what the NRA does on a federal level. We both attempt to get people elected to office who are pro-gun, pro-hunting. We target people who oppose our views in hopes of defeating them at the polls.

Remember, it's the squeaky wheel that gets the oil. If you are an elected official and the majority of your constituents tell you to outlaw guns and hunting, you're going to abide by their wishes. And of course, it works the other way. If we could unite gun owners and hunters, we would be the squeaky wheel getting the attention.

Never has it been more important for us to unite. The antis are using the pacman strategy. They just continually take a little bite of our gun ownership and hunting rights. This is the election year we've been waiting for. GET INVOLVED. Learn who supports your views. Support those candidates and the organizations that want to fight for your gun and hunting rights. It's your choice. You can win in November or stay on the steady downhill course.
