DON'T BE DUPED

In an article that appeared in the May 31. 1996 Las Vegas Review Journal, Harry Reid said he intended to present Congress with a plan to designate millions of acres of roadless (emphasis added) lands in Nevada as official wilderness areas that would protect them from intrusion by motor vehicles and mechanized forms of travel such as mountain bikes.

When Harry crammed the 733,400 acres of Forest Service wilderness down our

throats, it was stated that there were no roads (roadless) in this acreage. Nothing could be further from the truth. To get around the fact that there were indeed roads, the government called them "ways". Therefore, when the government looked at it, it was roadless. But there sure were plenty of "ways" in these areas. Rest assured, this tactic will be tried again, but only if Harry Reid is reelected and that's why it is important to the sportsmen to be certain he is not reelected.
