HUNTER'S ALERT has lost three of its loyal supporters in the last year. All three had something in common: they all wanted to see the return of our deer herds.

John Good died at the age of 82. He had lived in Nevada since 1940. He made the largest single donation which enabled HUNTER'S ALERT to go to the next level. He recited many stories on how good hunting used to be. When we marched on the Governor's Office protesting the sheep giveaway, even though John was in failing health, he still carried a sign for the cause he believed in.

Cleo Cripps made generous contributions and was a regular at the banquets. Every time a newsletter went out, we could always rely on Cleo to make a donation. Cleo was on the original committee seeking to make changes in NDOW and to halt the encroachment of the wilderness movement. He is truly missed.

Jim Buckler was in deer camp last season and passed away while there. Jim wrote a letter to us in our Winter 2000 issue. He said that he used to see thousands of deer. Now there are none, only lots of coyotes. Jim was doing what he loved when he left us, a wish we all have expressed at one time or another.
